The first thing to consider is the water you will use. You may not be aware of it but water can become stale when exposed to mildew or if it has not been filtered properly. This can dramatically affect the taste of your coffee. Also the water needs to be hot, around 203F, close to the boiling point.

When selecting a bean, choose arabica. This bean is grown at a higher altitude which gives them a better flavor. Fresh is important so if you do not grind the bean yourself be sure you buy fresh grounds. You can tell its freshness by the aroma.

Robusta - though easier to grow and more disease resistant - has more caffeine and less flavor. It should be reserved for those quick pick-me-up cups, not used for an espresso to be savored.

Finely ground in burr, not blade, grinders the roast should be dark - French or Viennese. The name refers to the color, not the origin. Blade 'grinders' actually chop, not grind. Burr grinders have pyramid shaped teeth on two plates that grind the beans between them.

Good grinding is important. You want your grounds to be like sand. If they are like gravel they are not ground enough. If they are powdery they are ground to fine. You do not want your coffee grounds to have too much exposure to the air or they will begin to absorb smells and particles from the air and this will change the flavor and aroma.

Finally a good espresso needs a good machine. You want to avoid steam machines that use steam to create pressure. The best machines have thermoblock and pump pressure of 9 bar or greater. This thermoblock heats the water as it travels through the machine to the pump. This process makes for a better espresso.

Now that you have gathered together the right equipment the rest is up to you the maker.

Start by running good clean water through the espresso machine to be sure it is nice and clean and to warm it up to get it ready for your coffee. Simply run clean water, no coffee, through the machine.

Put in your coffee and pat it down a bit. It should not be packed in to tight but it should not move around easily either.

Replace the coffee holder into the machine and secure it well. Then replace your warmed espresso cup into the machine and you are ready to turn the machine on to start the process. - 18256

Central air conditioning can be a hassle to fix when something breaks or a certain component malfunctions. But there are also some very easy preventive maintenance stuff that you can do to evade many common problems that happen in central air conditioners.

I will be referring to the air handler and the condensing unit a lot. To make things perfectly clear the air handler is inside, usually in a closet, and the condensing unit is outside of the home.

The first thing you can do is to make sure that you have a clean air filter at all times. You should check it and replace it once a month, depending on what type of air filter you have. If you have a dirty air filter the air will be restricted and cause your HVAC system to operate less efficient.

Make sure that you are making an effort to keep your condensate line free of sludge. You can do this by buying slime and sludge tablets and placing them in the air handlers drip pans every couple of months. Using a wet dry vacuum to suck out all the sludge is another way to keep your condensate line clean on your HVAC system.

If you find that your line backed up and shut down your air conditioning system, or flooded the house you will have to clean the line out. It will probably require a wet dry vacuum to do this, since the slime tablets are mainly made for preventing slime and sludge inside the condensate line.

Make sure that both of the coils on the air handler and the condensing unit are kept clean. For the air handler coils all you have to do is make sure that you always have a clean filter in, then you should be fine. The inside coils in most cases get dirty because of not having an air filter installed at all.

The outside coils usually do not get dirty as often as the ones that are located inside. The problem that happens most is bushes, leaves, plants, that are close to the condensing unit and block the hot air that is trying to be blown out. So make sure your condensing unit has a couple of feet of free space all the way around it.

Refrigerant leaks are also very common on HVAC systems. If your HVAC system is not blowing cool air, and the condenser is not blowing out hot air then you could have a refrigerant leak. If this is the case it must be fixed by a certified HVAC technician.

The asparagus fern, like many other types of plants, has a name that does not exactly fit it. On the other hand those that would invest in mortgage companies were not biting at the former profit margins offered.

So, Fannie Mae has increased their profit margins by 1% in the last two weeks. This is not a minor change.

It's not a small increase, at least at one time. Margins have been creeping up at 1/4 point at a time.

The higher interest rate results in a couple different effects. The first being the reverse mortgage borrowers loses equity in the home that much quicker.

The other affect is a lower loan size.

People receive less money when rates are higher for the very reason that equity is stripped away more quickly.

The electric motor made sewing faster, easier, and more reliable. It never got tired pumping or cranking. While the treadle and hand crank machines are now nostalgic treasures, they do not compare to the productive ability of the motorized sewing machine.

These motors convert AC (standard household Alternating Current) electricity from the home power outlet into usable kinetic energy to drive wheels, belts, gears, and levers. If the flow is in only one direction within the loop, it is DC or direct current. Use of a transformer can convert AC to DC or the reverse.

Altering Sleeves Techniques

My daughter found this super deal " 75% off of a pretty blouse. The problem was that there was a small tear on one sleeve. I suppose she could have tried repairing the tear, but she decided it would be better to just shorten the sleeve. Unfortunately, while my daughter sews some, she lacked the confidence to shorten the sleeve herself.

Long sleeves are great for formal occasions and during the cold weather, but when it gets hot long sleeves can be miserable. One solution is to shorten the sleeves. In fact, I suppose you could shorten all the shirt sleeves in May and buy a whole new collection of long sleeved shirts in the Fall. That way you have plenty of short sleeve shirts plus new shirts too.

Why would you alter a perfectly good blouse or shirt? Why would you cut off a perfectly good sleeve? There are many possible needs: comfort, style, repair, just want to. The more apt question is how do you alter a sleeve?

A sleeve can be changed in many ways. You can vary the length significantly from sleeveless to short sleeve to three quarter sleeve length. You have many options to enhance the sleeve with lace, frills, or cuffs. It is a project that you can have real confidence doing if you follow some very basic steps.

First, determine the sleeve length you want. If you are hesitant, try on a couple of other shirts, until you find one that fits the way you like.

Second, Measure both under- arm seam and at the shoulder. Add 1 " to this measurement, and mark the fabric with a fabric marker.

Third, Cut the sleeve straight across, connecting both under arm and top sleeve measurements.

At this point, you will need to adjust for the taper of the sleeve shape otherwise when you finish the sleeve will bind or bunch up in the underarm. The stitching inside the sleeve between the hem and under arm sleeve must be removed in order for you to reshape the sleeve. Sew a seam along this taper.

The inch and a half of fabric to be used for the hem, must be cut and sewn with an angle opposite to accommodate the taper so that when it is folded under it will not bind.

Step Five, complete the hem. Look at the blouse. Do you see any top stitching? If so, you may simply fold the fabric under and top stitch. Otherwise, you will need to install a blind hem. Turn half an inch under and press with your iron. Fold another one inch and press again. Sew.

Your sewing machine may have a specialty stitch called the blind hem stitch. You can use this stitch with the specialty blind hem foot to produce your blind hem. You can also get exceptional professional results using a specialty machine called a blind hemmer. - 18256

Beginners Saltwater Fishing Tackle Guide

If you want to be a saltwater fisherman than you must have the appropriate fishing tackle for the kind of fish that you are trying to catch. Since there are so many different sizes of fish to be caught, that means there are many types of tackle that are necessary.

When you are saltwater fishing inshore, you will need a fairly light fishing rod and reel set up with fishing line in the 10 pound test area. Spinning rod and reel set ups will work great for this. For offshore fishing you will need a bait casting reel and rod, equipped with heavy duty fishing line and terminal tackle.

There are two popular types of saltwater fishing lines that are commonly used by anglers, there are braided and monofilament. Monofilament line is much cheaper than the braided line, and will catch fish and has been used for a long time, it will not hold up as good as braided line though.

Braided line is a lot stronger than monofilament line, and you can fit a lot more line on a reel compared to the same pound test for monofilament fishing line. The only drawback to getting this type of fishing line is that it is a lot more expensive than the other types of fishing lines that are out there.

You will need a leader line on your fishing rod set up too, this line is usually 2-4 times stronger than the line you have on your fishing reel, and should be 1-3 feet long for inshore fishing. When you are fishing offshore, especially when you are trolling the leader lines can get a lot longer.

Leader lines can be attached to the regular line by either tying a know, or by using a swivel. It is common to have weights and sinkers on a leader line, you can also have corks and multiple hooks attached also depending on what you are fishing for.

Hooks are sized by number, 1 being the smallest for inshore fishing. For inshore fishing you will be using sizes 1 through 10, 10 being big enough to catch a medium sized shark. If you are deep sea fishing you will need to use much larger hooks if you are going for big game fish that are 50 pounds and up.

Another important item to have in your tackle box would be a set of fishing lures. Fishing lures are shaped like bait fish and they can range from a couple of dollars up to a hundred. You will not need the expensive fishing lures unless you are going after big marlin or swordfish.

Now that you have an understanding of what types of tackle you will need to saltwater fish you will need a place to store all of it. This is where the tackle box comes in place.
